make things easier we compiled a list of resources that they may be able to use. Please scroll

down to the bottom, there is some good information about health insurance for low or no income

residents of Palm Beach County only.

The County has a financial assistance program up to $7500 to help residents prevent

foreclosure. The process can take up to 3 months, and applicants must be in arrears and

currently employed.

the residents’ income from the past three months. Rent or mortgage payment assistance and

utility bills may be available. Referrals to other resources may also be available. The office is

open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The best way to contact them is to go in-person to the office.

Through the Access program, people can fill-out the applications on-line. To be eligible, residents

must meet certain income requirements. There is a pre-screening tool at this website to

determine eligibility.

Healthcare for Kids - all counties -

There is information for grandparents raising uninsured kids, and where to get help for

your kids in another state that are uninsured.

Most people in Palm Beach County do not realize that we pay for a Health Care District through a

special tax on our property tax. The Palm Beach County Health Care District offers some

wonderful under utilized programs for residents who income qualify.

For those who qualify (PBC resident meeting basic income and asset requirements), members

receive access to primary care, specialty care, emergency care, hospitalization and prescription

drugs. There is no co-payment for services. Maximum household income for a family of 4 is

$31,000.

For those who qualify - Vita Health is a new affordable health coverage option for you and your

family. This program is a shared cost health plan that enables you and your family to access

health care services. Maximum household income for a family of 4 is $63,000. Other maximum

income and family size is available on-line. Cost is based on the age of the person to be insured.
